This workshop combines the fundamentals of yoga and incorporation of Block Therapy™. The class is compassion-centered with a focus on self-care and expressing loving kindness to yourself as we focus on the key points of alignment in Downward Facing Dog or Adho Mukha Svanasana. Utilizing Block Therapy throughout the workshop supports flexibility and the releasing of fascia to expand our abilities in this fundamental pose.

Focus areas for this workshop are the upper back and shoulders, hips, and hamstrings.

Block Buddy: In this workshop we use a therapeutic tool called the Block Buddy. Bamboo is used as the therapeutic tool because, unlike artificial materials like foam or plastic, it shares similar density to bone. With gravity and body weight, the Block Buddy can sink deeply into the tissue all the way to the root of your issues. The pressure brings increased blood and oxygen into the area warming the connective tissue and “melting” the powerful seal between the layers of unhealthy restrictions. The combination of increased oxygen, the freeing of adhesions, proper posture and alignment form the basis of the Block Therapy/Fluid Isometrics system. We want our bodies to align with their natural healthy state. By releasing unhealthy restrictions and practicing proper alignment in our yoga practice, we can achieve balance, flexibility, and self-heal.
